A singer and choir leader, Alex leads singing workshops and performs for groups, schools, festivals, and community events throughout Australia.

Alex is passionate about the role of singing in creating community and bridging cultural differences. She is currently a Casual Academic in conducting at Sydney Conservatorium of Music. In 2019-20 she volunteered at the music program at Tribal Warrior, an Indigenous language and culture revival project in Redfern and and ran workshops in regional communities for the UNSW Aspire program; and currently tours Australia with Musica Viva in Schools troupe Da Vinci’s Apprentice. She is director for Contemporary Vocal Ensemble, SCEGGS Darlinghurst; and runs workshops for The Arts Unit and the Department of Education.

A much sought-after teacher of choral singing in Australia, Alex began her singing career with the acclaimed group The Choir of St James King St, with whom she has recorded 3 albums and toured to Europe, the UK and Singapore. She has run workshops at large events such as Singing At The House, a free community singing event held at Sydney Opera House; and All About Women, in a free community singing event championing feminist anthems and music by women. Other groups Alex has worked with include Cleftomaniacs, an auditioned a cappella group based in Redfern; Choir Rocks; Cremorne Point Choir; Mosman Community College; Senior Choir, Monte Sant Angelo; Bel Canto, Marist Sisters College Woolwich; and The Arts Unit Popular Music Camp.

In 2019, Alex was the inaugural Ars Musica Australis Scholarship Recipient for River City Voices Assistant Conductor program.
